John Dolan

Senior Guideline Specialist, Rogers Communications Canada Inc

John is the chair of the SCTE 2020 Facility Climate Technologies Optimization Group. He is the Senior Guideline Specialist for Network Facilities in Rogers Wireline, a division of Rogers. In this role he develops the network standards used to build or expand all Wireline technical sites and Wireless Central Offices.  This role also involves reducing the energy requirement and carbon footprint in technical sites as part of the overall Rogers company goals for sustainability. John has worked for Rogers for 35 years starting in network maintenance and then moving on to implementation where he managed the construction and turn-up of technical sites.

Debbie Fitzgerald

Principal Architect, CableLabs

Debbie Fitzgerald has been at CableLabs for over 10 years and in the cable industry for over 20 years, leading efforts in next-gen network architectures and platforms, interactive television, advanced advertising, and energy efficiency.  For the past 5 years Debbie has played a key role in the Set-Top Box (STB) and Small Network Equipment energy efficiency voluntary agreements (VA) in the United States and Canada.  The 2016 VA Annual report estimated that the U.S. STB VA has saved 16.8 TWh of energy and nearly $2B on consumers’ energy bills, and in 2016 it received the Environmental Leader Top Project Award.

Mike Glaser

Senior Engineer, Critical Facilities Engineering & Operation, Cox Communications

Mike Glaser has worked in Critical Facilities Engineering and Management roles for Cox Communications for over 20 years. Over this time, he has been instrumental in helping Cox make the move towards more reliable delivery of services, including the use of DC Power in the head ends, increased monitoring of remote power equipment, battery management, and deployment of DCIM-type tools, while contributing to the development of best practices and standards for Cox and various international industry groups.

Mark Hess

SVP, Business and Industry Affairs, Comcast Cable

Mark Hess was named Senior Vice President of Business and Industry Affairs for Comcast Cable in 2011. He expanded his role in 2017 to include industry support for the syndication business of Comcast Technology Solutions. Mark and his team manage joint ventures and strategic development agreements with Comcast’s vendors and industry partners. He also represents Comcast on key industry issues by working closely with industry associations (CTAM, Cable Labs, NCTA, SCTE, CTA, and ATIS). Mark joined Comcast in 1999 as Vice President of Digital Television. Since then, he has served as Senior Vice President of Video Product Development for Comcast and Senior Vice President of Advanced Business and Technology Development for Comcast Cable.

 

 

Sam Khola

Director Sustainability, Liberty Global

Sam is responsible for defining, implementing, evaluating and advocating strategies, programs and communications focused on driving environmental actions across Liberty Global. Sam has been part of the Liberty Global family for 14 years in various roles and capacities. His previous roles include responsibility for integration of businesses into the Liberty family, program management of major programs such as Docsis 3.0, Microsoft cloud services for B2B and more. Most recently he was responsible for operational readiness of services to the European footprint. Prior to joining Liberty Global Sam worked in various architecture, design and project management roles at Ericsson Radio Systems.

Todd Musat

Director, Critical Infrastructure Service, Shaw Communications

Todd Musat began his career at Shaw Communications in 1996 as Manager of Fibre Optics.  Today, he serves the company as Director of Critical Infrastructure Services, with responsibilities for the company’s planning, deployment and operational teams, which have the overall accountability for capacity management and uptime readiness for technical facilities.  He has the additional responsibility of providing leadership for the company’s strategic fibre network developmental planning and implementation groups with a focus on leveraging inter-company relationships and technologies to achieve goals.
